Ordering English Church Records Civil registration of all births, marriages and deaths began in September 1837. Before civil registration we must rely on church records. Genfindit can search for and if successful transcribe church records provided you can supply the name, parents' names (if known), religious denomination and parish or location where the birth, marriage or burial occurred. Copies of the church registers are researched at the Society of Genealogists in London, London Metropolitan Archives or LDS microfilms.  Due to the fragile condition of many the records the archives may not or will not allow photocopying of the parish registers they hold and can only transcribe the entry.   Prices below include a search and record transcription or copy (if available) if found by our researchers.  If we are provided with insufficient information to enable a search (after liaising with you)  or records are not available at the above archives we will advise you and refund 75% of the fees.     Feel at ease knowing you have the correct information....
